Odisha Vastram is currently in its pre-launch phase. This policy is published in advance so sellers, customers and partners can see exactly how the marketplace will operate. It becomes binding when marketplace transactions begin; the published version at that date governs.

Handcrafted products are made by real people whose payment depends on each order, so Odisha Vastram runs a verified return system — fair to customers with genuine problems, and protective of makers against false claims. Every claim is decided on evidence, the most important being the packaging video recorded for your order before it shipped.

1. The return window

You may raise a return request within 5 days of delivery, in your account or through customer support, with clear photos (or a short video) of the product as you received it. Requests after the window cannot be accepted, because seller payouts are released once the window closes.

2. Valid return reasons

  • Wrong product — you received a different product than ordered.
  • Damaged in transit — the product arrived broken, torn or stained due to shipping.
  • Damaged due to packaging — damage attributable to inadequate packing.
  • Significantly different from listing — a material difference from the photos/description (different fabric, missing parts, false craft claim).

3. What is not a valid return reason

  • Change of mind, or “I didn’t like it”.
  • Choosing the wrong size at checkout (a goodwill exchange may be considered — see Section 5).
  • Minor colour perception differences where the packaging video shows the actual product colour. Handcrafted products also carry natural variations — slight irregularities in weave or finish are the signature of handwork, not defects.
  • Late delivery (the product is yours; delay compensation is handled separately under the Shipping Policy).

4. How claims are verified

Every order ships only after the seller records a continuous packaging video showing the product and the sealed parcel. When you raise a claim:

  • Our team reviews your photos against the packaging video and courier records, typically within 2 business days.
  • If the claim is confirmed, the return is approved, a reverse pickup is arranged at no cost to you, and a full refund follows.
  • If the packaging video clearly shows the correct product properly packed, mismatch claims are declined with an explanation. You may escalate any decision through the Grievance Redressal process.

5. Exchanges

Exchanges are offered only for size errors made by the seller (the parcel contains a different size than you ordered, verified against the packaging video) and are subject to stock. Where the correct size is unavailable, the case converts to a full refund.

6. Refunds

  • Approved refunds are always 100% of what you paid for the order.
  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method once the returned item is received back (or immediately for approved non-return refunds), with a credit note issued against your invoice.
  • Banks typically post the amount within 5–7 business days of processing.

7. Failed deliveries

If a parcel is returned to origin because delivery failed or was refused, the order is refunded in full after the parcel is received back. Repeated refusal patterns may limit cash-equivalent privileges after review.
